Somatic Experiencing and Trauma Resolution Coaching
Within your body is innate wisdom and self-healing capacity. Reconnect with the language of your body to discover your own unique healing path to wholeness.
My approach is rooted in Somatic Experiencing and trauma resolution methods. Through gently learning and integrating the messages the body is sending, we can learn to reconnect with ourselves, with others, and the world around us.
If you are experiencing:
Anxiety and panic
Depression
Shock trauma and PTSD
Developmental trauma
C-PTSD
Chronic stress and burn-out
Chronic health symptoms
Or if you can’t name it, but feel something is disconnected, empty, broken, stuck or just ‘off’..
Then together, we can explore:
→ Restoring what a real, felt sense of safety feels in your body.
—> Listening to the unique needs of your body and gently decoding the messages it’s sending.
→ Softly accessing and resolving old, stuck and traumatic energy.
→ Identifying ingrained survival responses, and fostering new patterns to emerge.
→ Providing a safe, relational container for physiological and psychological resilience to emerge from within.
“When you fall apart, don’t forget to love the pieces.”

Questions

How is Somatic Experiencing different from other types of therapy?
- Somatic Experiencing (SE) is a therapeutic healing modality that focuses on how trauma shows up in the nervous system. It views the dysregulation of the nervous system as having a profound impact on our bodies and lives. When we are stuck in patterns of fight, flight, or freeze, SE helps us release, recover, and become more resilient.
- Other types of therapy often focus on mind-based (‘top-down’) approaches which aim to address symptoms through cognitive methods. SE can work in conjunction and as a complementary method to other types of therapies and healing modalities.

What are somatic and body-based healing approaches?
Somatic simply means ‘relating to the body’. Body-based approaches view mind-body-spirit as one and are rooted in the idea that traumatic experiences are not just in the mind, but are also stored in the body. The focus of body-based approaches is on the bodily experience, felt sensation, and nervous system responses.

What can I expect out of a session?
- Our main focus in a session will be connecting with and learning the language of your body by tracking the moment to moment experience. We will build awareness of sensations and restore the body’s own ability to process and release traumatic energies. Somatic tools may include dialogue, movement, grounding, or imagery. We will work through resolving nervous systems responses by building internal nervous system capacity through sensory methods. With that said, each session is as unique as each person and will be led by the innate wisdom of your body.
- Sessions may have an intention to address a goal or symptom, or they can be purely body-led, allowing things to emerge organically. Sessions may also include psycho-education elements, allowing you to cognitively understand the process and support your ability to regulate your nervous system independently.

How many sessions will I need?
This is highly personal and depends on your own unique needs and goals. I encourage people to stick with the process for at least 6 sessions. Between 6-8 sessions, most people start to develop an understanding of the rhythm and impact of the sessions and can make an informed decision about the path forward.

How often do sessions take place?
- I recommend weekly sessions to start off. This cadence allows for us to build safety and familiarity in our sessions while allowing time for integration and rest. Sessions can shift to bi-weekly or monthly depending on your needs.

Where do sessions take place?
I currently offer sessions online. I also offer in-person sessions in a private space in Amman (Jabal Al-Weibdeh), Jordan.

“My session with Amalee was deeply nourishing. She has a unique ability to slow things down and hold space for a deeper unveiling. I walked away with a deeper knowing of myself and a reminder of the importance of going slow.”
— Besan, Client.

“My 11 month journey with Amalee deeply supported me mentally, emotionally and physically. Amalee was my introduction to somatic therapy which was uncharted territory for me. I struggle with generalized anxiety and negative thinking patterns. With her guidance, patience, and commitment, I am now able to turn inwards and welcome any and all sensations. Both pleasant and unpleasant. I am now able to sit in my discomfort, recognize my thoughts, and observe the happenings of my system without judging it and resisting it. My journey does not end here but I couldn’t have asked for someone better than Amalee to help me step into it.”
— Jude, Client.
